Clue: Want a more challenging hike? Branch left at the fork towards the box. A truly unique experience, featuring gardens, labyrinths and varied hiking trails, this is the ideal spot for some quiet solace.

Open to the public since 1992, this unique experience features gardens, labyrinths, and varied hiking trails, including the only satellite Bruce Trail! In 2000 Rural Rootz became protected as a nature reserve, and this 100-acre property is the first in Ontario to be under the protection of a Land Conservancy Agreement with an integrated trail system as part of the easement. Find solace walking through the desert garden, or beginning the spirit walk trail. One thing is for certain, this is the stop for all looking to reconnect with nature or spiritually.

While you’re in the area, be sure to check out the goodies at the Handicraft House Trading Post, just north on Highway 6. One of Ontario’s kiteboarding hotspots is just down the road in Oliphant, grab some takeout and relax on the beach to watch, or rent some equipment to try out the sport yourself! The Sauble Beach Kite Surfing School offers lessons from May to October, so don’t be afraid to get your feet wet! Don’t forget to stop into Bluewater Park in Wiarton, to see the famous Wiarton Willie. Whisper your requests for next year, and he’ll see what he can do!

Digital stops have been added this year! From Lion’s Head you can head north to Tobermory, find the photo op and snap a picture. Tag us using #ETBAdventurePassport, and be entered in to win! For more information, including rules and regulations, visit: Digital Stops.
