Clue: A 'picture' perfect spot, 'framing' out the escarpment.

Lion’s Head is uniquely situated along the 45th parallel - the halfway marker between the North Pole and the Equator. It boasts those jaw dropping escarpment views and provides a relaxing atmosphere just steps from the Marina. Like many of the coastal communities in Bruce County, Lion’s Head was settled for rich fishing opportunities. The majority of the commercial fishing ended in 1932 and the population declined until the 1970’s, when the entire Peninsula started to attract cottagers, and the rest is history!

Prepare to spend a few days in the area and soak it all in. Explore Greigs Caves, hike the Bruce Trail, or paddle in one of the many bays and lakes surrounding Lion’s Head. Relax by the marina along the beach or spend some time shopping downtown at The Dandy Lion, Aunt Donkeys Toy and Novelty, or Hellyer’s Food Market with an unexpected staircase leading you to Grandad’s Attic.

Fun Fact:

  • Lion’s Head was aptly named as there was a lion’s profile found in the rock formations of the Niagara Escarpment.
