The ‘waterless’ Fountain

We stopped at a couple stops to get our punches, and brought more family along with us to join the fun and experience. One of the stops was at the Water Garden in Walkerton, and unfortunatley the fountain was all dried up. Maybe sometime in the summer it will have water and we will go [...]

Artesian Well

Mildmay has a stunning park! There were so many people there getting fresh spring water to take home, and that water was cold! The little river flowing through the park had fishermen at it and the little drive in restaurant was busy. Unfortunately, although it said it took debit, another sign said cash only, so [...]

Who knew?

Fisherman’s cove is a lovely spot that we really didn’t realize was so close! It’s nice to have a pet swimming area, although we don’t have a pet. I’m sure once summer hits and the leaves fill out this spot is gorgeous!

Disappointed again

Okay, I know it’s early in the season, but if you are part of this event, be prepared! The fountain in Walkerton was dry as a bone and letters were missing from the wall commemorating the park. I hope these things get fixed.

Disappointed

Our visit to the Formosa stop was disappointing because there was no water other than the stream nearby. The ‘waterfall’ was dry as a bone, making it hard to find despite it being right under our nose. We were looking for a waterfall, after all. The flowers were pretty.

Saturday May 4th Stop #9 Kinlough

Fifth and last stop of a long but very enjoyable day Fisherman’s Cove. Very nice campground, return visit later this summer very good possibility. Kids found the box fairly quickly punched their passports and took off to the playground. Great way to end the day and look forward to completing this adventure another day.

Saturday May 4th Stop #8 Inverhuron

Fourth stop of the day, Inverhuron Provincial Park. Well…not sure what to say here. Our first 1hr detour. Val being 8 months pregnant was not sure on the 1hr hike but agreed to give it a go. We started down the path for a great adventure and well adventure is what we got. 30 minutes [...]

Saturday May 4th Stop #7 Southampton

Third stop of the day Pioneer Park. Great little stop, went out on the pier to get a view of the light house. Posed for some pictures with the cannons and anchors. Took some extra time and went down on the beach to burn off some energy and to enjoy a great 25 degree day.

Saturday May 4th Stop #5 Lockerby

Second stop of the busy day Mill Dam. All of us really enjoyed this stop. Great view and the girls tested their nerv and crossed the bridge. Well not sure who was more nervous us or the girls. Val and myself were just as nervous as the kids became more comfortable getting closer to the [...]

Saturday May 4th Stop #5 Paisley

First stop of the day lots planned kids very excited. Dr. Milne Park was our first stop with a clue, being our first year we were not sure what the clue would look like. Found the clue read it to the girls and they were off to the races. Nice little park and was very [...]

May 2nd Night #2

Third and Fourth Stop was in Walkerton. Stopped by Walkerton Toyota for a Bonus Punch then off to Heritage Water Garden. This time around both girls were in complete understanding on what this is all about. So we let them loose in the park to go find the box. Both girls found the box quickly [...]

Amazing Adventure

If anyone takes a visit to Lions Head, i very much recommend the Bruce trail Beginning at the McCurdy Trailhead. Alot of neat stuff we saw! the 10,000 year old pothole from the ice age was incredible. Its amazing how those huge holes through the rocks were made! My kids climbed into one along the [...]

Second day home run

We walked all around Wiarton getting all the stamps we need for our Willie Walkabout. The kids were sooo excited when they saw the boxes! They walked the trail all the way to the Spiral Staircase; it was so amazing! Im so proud of my kids for making it all the way there and back! [...]

First day fail

My son and i were so excited, we went to the Lions Head stop, and since this was our first year doing the passport, we didnt quite know what to expect. We walked the trail 3/4 of the way to the punch (all with my son on my shoulders) and we turned back cause he [...]

May 1st First Night Out Continued

Second stop was a home town stop. Stop #12 Artesian Well, Mildmay. The girls liked the punch in the shape of the leaf. They posed for a few photos in front of the water wheel. It won’t be the last time at this stop this summer will be sure to be back several times to [...]
