The SVCA manages more than 4600 square kilometres, including conservation areas, throughout their jurisdiction. At headquarters building, you can see a recent project where fencing was installed along the Formosa Creek to keep cattle out of the water.  Trees will be planted this year inside the fencing to provide excellent habitat and keep the stream shaded and cool for fish species.  The presence of vegetation will also help keep soil on the land and not in the water.

While you’re in the area, don’t miss:

  • Stunning architecture at the stately Church of Immaculate Conception (Formosa)
  • Butter tarts and great food at Harley’s Pub & Perk  (Mildmay)
  • 14 year old cheddar to die for at the Mildmay Cheese Haus (Mildmay)
